Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships scheme is managed by the British Council on behalf of the Scottish Government. The programme offers up to 200 awards each worth £2000 towards the tuition fees of a one year Masters course at any of Scotland’s higher education institutions. The awards are part funded by the participating institutions.
The scholarships are offered to students from China, India, Canada and the USA (see eligibility criteria for full details) as part of a wider strategy to promote Scotland as a study destination and showcase Scotland’s higher education offering in international markets.
The programme was launched in January 2009. The closing date for the the next round of applications is 11 June 2010. Successful candidates will be notified by their institution in time for entry onto courses in the autumn term.
Initially, the Scotland’s Saltire Scholarship programme will run for two years, after which time it will be reviewed.
