How to Apply

The IAESTE registration form will be available to download from 1 September 2009 for placements in 2010. Initial registration will be from 1 September to 10 December.

IAESTE is managed in the UK by the British Council as part of an international association of over 85 member countries. Find your local British Council office.

	IAESTE global work experience


	The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience

IAESTE is a global work experience programme that arranges paid placements for undergraduate students studying science, engineering and architecture. We are managed in the UK by the British Council as part of an international association of over 85 member countries that aims to:

			provide science, engineering and architecture undergraduates with training experience abroad relevant to their studies
			offer employers well qualified and motivated foreign trainees
			be a source of cultural enrichment for trainees and their host employers.

IAESTE has exchanged over 320,000 students worldwide since its foundation in 1948. It has played a key role in the development of engineers and scientists enabling them to make their mark on the global economy. Over 22,000 students have come from the United Kingdom.

In Scotland, IAESTE sends 90 - 100 local students abroad each year for course-related training. A similar number of overseas students come to Scotland for work placements in local industry, university departments and public sector bodies.

In the UK IAESTE is administered by the British Council, the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities which builds engagement and trust for the UK through the exchange of knowledge and ideas between people worldwide.
