Scotland - Hong Kong Partners in Research Scheme

British Council are pleased to support the Scottish Government and the Hong Kong Research Grants Council new post doctoral funding initiative aimed at stimulating and strengthening academic and research links between Scotland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The aim of this initiative that will be managed by British Council is to foster academic links between Scotland and Hong Kong enabling experienced researchers to conduct cutting edge research in each other’s country.

Up to 10 awards are available in the 2012/13 financial year to experienced researchers who are in employment in either a Scottish university or research institution or a Hong Kong University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded institution. The 10 awards available will be divided equally between researchers based in Hong Kong and Scottish universities.

Applications are welcome from researchers in the following research areas:

  • Renewable and new energies
  • Healthcare and life sciences
  • Sustainable development
  • Economics and finance

The closing date for applications is the 29 October 2012.
