Mahmoud Shukair

During the project the group spent an evening at the house of Palestinian writer Mahmound Shukair in East Jerusalem, near to the wall which divides him from members of his family and renders his travel in and out of the city tortuous and unpredictable through the checkpoints. Mahmoud Shukair writes short stories, some of which he read in the original arabic as the groups read their English translations. Rody Gorman has translated the short stories into Gaelic.
