69 early-career researchers were recently awarded Researcher Exchange Programme awards as part of the 2008-09 scheme. These awards will support new collaborations between the UK and international researchers in many fields such as, archaeology, architecture, biogeochemistry, nanotechnology, biotechnology, medicine, social science, and philosophy.
New research links have been created between researchers in the UK and 27 different countries, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Japan, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa and USA.
