Information and activities relating to the planets

National Space Centre, Leicester
The National Space Centre is the UK’s only visitor attraction about space.  Their website contains details of the attraction and the latest news in space.

Association for Astronomy Education
Information about astronomy outreach in the UK, including a list of speakers available to talk to schools and other institutions.

Nine Planets
This site gives a multimedia overview of the Solar System, with clearly written pages outlining current scientific knowledge, the history and cultural relevance of each of the planets and moons.  There are also links to additional sources of information and images

Enchanted Learning - Astronomy
Enchanted Learning’s astronomy pages give details of the planets illustrated by user-friendly diagrams.  Topics covered include the origin of the Solar System and the Earth’s water cycle.  The pages also include interactive puzzles, quizzes and a dictionary of astronomy terms.

JPL Solar System Pages
JPL’s Solar System website gives a comprehensive overview of NASA’s missions to study the Solar System, as well as background information on the planets, moons, comets and asteroids.

BBCi – Solar System
The BBC’s Space website gives an interactive overview of the Solar System and details of each the planets written as if for a travel brochure.  The site includes animations and video clips from the BBC’s 2001 series, “Space”, presented by Sam Neill.
