SISTER
(Support for International Science, Technology and Engineering Research)
The British Council SISTER resource is an online funding route map which aims to encourage and facilitate international scientific collaboration. The resource provides links to the relevant web pages of all national and multilateral bodies that provide significant funding for international collaboration in science and technology.

The Royal Society
The Royal Society, as the national academy of science for the United Kingdom promotes international scientific collaboration through a range of scientific exchange programmes. Browse the Royal Society website to find more about their international activities and funding opportunities.

Research Councils UK
Research Councils UK unites seven Research Councils focusing on different areas of scientific research and the Arts and Humanities Research Board. The Research Councils are the main UK bodies investing in fundamental research in science. Search their websites to find lots of information on funding opportunities provided by each of the seven Research Councils.

The Royal Society of Chemistry
The Royal Society of Chemistry offers a number of travel grants, research and education initiatives support schemes, science journalism fellowships, and other funding options to RSC members.

The NATO Science Programme
The NATO Science Programme offers support for international collaboration between scientists. Explore the science page of the NATO website to learn more.

The Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Trust offers a variety of schemes for funding research and collaboration in the fields of biomedical science, technology transfer, medical humanities and public involvement.

European Collaboration Programmes
The European Union Community Research and Development Information Service website provides comprehensive information about European Union-funded research programmes.

Russian Foundation for Basic Research
The Russian Foundation for Basic Research is a state organisation created to support research in all areas of fundamental science and the development of scientific links across nations.

The Novartis Foundation
The Novartis Foundation awards bursaries for young people to attend its international scientific symposia.
