Joint Chevening Awards

The FCO, the British Chevening Scholarships, in partnership with University of Southampton is pleased to announce one joint Southampton/Chevening award for talented graduates and high-flying young professionals from Russia who are seeking a unique opportunity to study in the UK and acquire new skills and knowledge.

The University of Southampton was originally the Hartley Institute, founded in 1862. The University was granted Royal Charter in 1952. Today Southampton is a top 10 UK research university, ranked 80th in the world – among only 19 UK universities to make the top 100 (The Times Higher Education Supplement 2007).

On England’s south coast, around one hour from central London and Heathrow Airport, within easy reach of open countryside, the University enjoys an outstanding location. Major European cities are just a short flight from Southampton Airport. This cosmopolitan city provides a warm welcome to our 21,000 students, including 3,000 international students from 130 countries. Living and learning at Southampton is a truly unique, exciting experience.
