Winning Idea

Platforma Market
(Orange team)

The idea of the orange team is to develop a platform for designer handmade workshops and open a design market in Butyrsky district. The first step is to organise mini-production at the territory of Flacon design-zavod, specialized on product design, clothes and accessories. Platforma Market will be a creative platform for young active people: designers, artists, local habitants and citizens. That will give them opportunity to share their experience and also provide a good chance to start their own business.

As Platforma Market needs a support, it will be developed in partnership with local authorities and representatives of local businesses. The structure of the whole project is as follows:

  1. the project meets the objectives of business community, creatives, specialists and local people and joins their efforts
  2. after negotiations with stake-holders project gets spaces on which both mini-workshops and design market can be based
  3. workshops on different materials, techniques and technologies run at Flacon, where storage and showroom spaces can be provided as well
  4. design market happens periodically and after gaining a popularity becomes a must for its primary audience
  5. project has strong promotion in the Web, it becomes a brand
  6. marketing through web makes design market available to people from different cities and countries

Generally design market is seen as a new creative space popular among young people who are searching for original things, also it’s a platform for different entertainment & educational sessions. Finally this project can be interesting for tourists who will get an opportunity to buy interesting souvenirs on their way to/from the airport (transportation system to be taken in consideration).

Ideas of other teams

I & Co
(Red team)

The aim of I & Co project is to create on the territory of Flacon design-zavod a creative cluster, a centre, connected with smaller colonies all over the district. These colonies will be  platforms for different social networks involving active young people. A programme of project’s development is as follows:

  1. Start with an exhibition “The world around us”,  involvement of young people and teenagers:
  2. Continue the next year with celebrating of Savior of the Apple Feast Day, organise charity auctions:
  3. In two years change the image of the district: to build a park of entertainment with roads for rollers, apple garden, sculptures from papier-maché (from ice in winter). Make Flacon a relaxing space for local people and their children.

This project should be developed in cooperation with local authorities and youth organisations (youth parliament). As a result it will create new social networks and reorganise the life in the district.

Artefactory
(Yellow team)

The idea proposes to create a two-fold space for Flacon where the physical territory of Flacon is used as a space for creative people to live, work and produce and a special mobile space – Kiosk is created to share with the outside world the work created and produced at Flacon. All people and companies based in Flacon have access to Kiosk and can use it.  The system of booking is working. The kiosk can be used for selling, performing, interacting, displaying and testing the work of Flacon inhabitants. The main thing about the Kiosk is that it is as interactive and up to date as the web. It is refreshed on a regular basis and represents the latest results of work. The Kiosk is a flexible space and can be used in different configurations:

  1. education;
  2. market;
  3. performance;
  4. exhibition.

Kiosk is a mobile structure that travels around Moscow and represents Flacon on Butyrskaya street, in Winzavod, in Gorky Park, on the web, on Red Square etc., displaying the best creative ideas and products from Flacon.

Business incubator – Made in Buter
(Green team)

Business incubator is a socio-cultural programme of grants for small business projects with social value: cafes, galleries, shops, children studios, mini-cinemas, sport studios, educational programmes, etc. The programme gives an opportunity to support small business and to encourage exploration of new business formats and activities. The criteria to select the best projects are as follows: branding and image policy; importance for the development of the district, novelty and attractiveness of the idea Stages of projects’ selection:

  1. Flacon opens application process, receives applications, selects best ones based on the criteria
  2. Expert committee (local authorities) – analyses business plans, has an interview with the candidate, makes decision
  3. Public voting – selection 3 out of seven projects

The project stimulates local people and innovators to cooperation. Local people get involved into the creative process, together they create bank of innovations and chose the best projects. Innovators get a chance to organise a community where they could develop their ideas also they get promotion for their business. As a result business incubator will make Butyrsky region a platform for different social activities and it will give good start for young businesses.

Green Square
(Blue team)

Green square will be a creative centre, which will suggest different activities for moscovites.  This centre will be built in accordance with principles of green policy. It will be used for different social activities.

One of possible activities is a city farm  - unique chance to grow your own little garden in the heart of Moscow.

Also this centre will  be used as a concert hall for different performances, as an exhibition hall and as play ground for children. It will be facilitated with modern equipment,  that will make it the best platform for  conferences, workshops and other public activities.

The project involves not only local people from Butyrsky district, but  all the moscovites. It’s called green square, as it will be  the significant place in Moscow, as the famous Red square is.
