Aim of Exploratory activities

To trigger debate on the role of creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation in cities and the ways to enable the development of social entrepreneurship. To implement the projects of socially-minded businesses, to raise awareness of the community about the projects created by the citizens.

Format

There are three components

1.Business innovation space

British Council will be cooperating with city authorities and heads of the corporate and traditional industrial sectors interested in city development. The events in the framework of business innovation space will let business leaders share their experience with their peers and also with young influencers, support them in addressing their practical challenges and needs, contribute to their professional development and engage in their projects

2. Online platform

  • establish an online platform as a resource for supply and exchange of creative resources
  • raise awareness of citizens about ongoing social innovations and involve them in various activities

2.European space

There are a number of  Creative Cities events happening in different  European countries. Find out more here.

How to become a participant

September 2009 – April 2010 Meetings of business leaders with young entrepreneurs  to support them in addressing their practical challenges and needs, contribute to their professional development and engage in their projects
July – September 2009 Scoping of existing online activity in Moscow that is linked to creativity and entrepreneurship
December 2009 The launch of the first online project. The format of the project is to be defined during the scoping
Autumn 2010 Social  entrepreneurship conference. The participants will represent the financial sector of Russian and the UK
