We invited the experts in city planning, architecture and art fields from England, Nertherlands, Spain and Russia to take part in the Future City Game.

The idea of the program

A city festival (especially in Russia) not always associates with real fun and it is far from being attractive. Unfortunately very often the scheme is the same: food, drink and souvenir shops, boring amusement animation, rustic musicians on stage. Places for these activities are also common - the central square, stadium, central city park. What can we observe after such kind of festivals? Heaps of rubbish, morning hang-over of the festival guests.

Cardboardia project would like to declare a new kind of city festival – the festival, which not only leaves good memories, but also provides benefits to the community. Our festival is an event with the positive outcome.

There were the following opportunities to develop:

- To take part in development and realization of a city festival with social mission;

- To make their own project presentation at the city festival;

- To share the experience with the invited experts from different countries;

- To find the soul mates, to find new communications;

- To immerse into life and construction of Cardboard Town;

- To see unofficial Moscow which usually is not available for tourists.

As part of the program we had a lot of workshops, discussions and competitions, where everyone could take part.

  Everything is possible at Cardboardia. If you want you can build houses under your own project, if you have no idea — you can erect municipal buildings. You can draw, you can dance, you can go in for sports in cardboard stadium or simply walk and stare at how other people works. Only cigarettes, matches and lightings are strictly prohibited — authorities are afraid of a terrible damage that this «state enemies» can cause to Cardboard State» Newspaper «Gazeta», 2009.
