Russia Market Focus 2011
London Book Fair 2011

London Book Fair 2011 will take place in Earls Court  from 11 till 13 of April 2011. Russia is this year Market Focus country of the fair.

The London Book Fair Market Focus initiative is a key opportunity for UK and international publishers to liaise with their foreign counterparts, and seek out and capitalise on new business partnerships. The Russia Market Focus and the associated cultural programme will place a spotlight on contemporary Russian authors and Russia as an important publishing arena.

«The London Book Fair , with its longstanding Market Focus cultural programme partner the British Council, and this year in partnership with the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation and their official partner, Academia Rossica, is delighted to welcome the Russia Market Focus into the spotlight for 2011.

The Russia Market Focus 2011 brings to an international stage the best in contemporary Russian literature, showcasing many of the different voices from the country today. Established authors mix with their younger peers adding a new chapter of Russian writing and publishing to a great tradition.

The many writers listed will be appearing in a series of trade events at The London Book Fair, as well as public events around London, and the rest of the UK, providing maximum exposure for meeting and debate. We aim to inform the global publishing community about Russian literature and highlight the potential that exists for collaboration and exchange.

With the 4th largest publishing industry in the world, and more that 40 of Russia’s finest writers ready to share their work with an international audience, now could not be a better time to look at the business, cultural and collaborative opportunities presented by the Russia Market Focus 2011. Russia is a new chapter in a Great Tradition».
