Quest project
Quality Enhancement Strategies
British Council in Russia with the consultative support of the Russian Ministry of Education launches Quest project.
Aim of the project
The project aims to develop descriptors of student competencies (learning outcomes) to define academic standards for Master’s level students in the context of a draft set of generic descriptors. This will be achieved by selected Russian universities working in partnership with their external stakeholders and with UK professional bodies and subject associations. Development of subject-based descriptors aims to become a starting point for the assessment of content and level of academic qualifications that meet the requirements of students, employers and academic society.

Project Participants
1. Russian participants: Consortia of Universities, employers, UMO (Methodological Councils), professional associations in 7 subject areas (pharmacy, social work, chemistry, ICT, engineering, publishing and art and design).

2. British participants: professional and academic associations, Quality Assurance Agency.

3. Consultative participation: Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

Opportunities for Universities

To gain experinece that will add up to the participation of Russian Universities in the Bologna process.
To work more actively with the employers and consider their interests in the development of educational programmes.
To learn more about UK experience in cooperation with employers and professional associations and in the development of curriculum and qualification descriptors based on skills and competencies.
