Teachers from all over Russia are invited to apply for an on-line course that will cover same topics as a face to face course but will be delivered 100% on-line in the virtual learning environment Moodle.
There are 3 sample units available to experience TKT Essentials online. (You need to be logged into TeachingEnglish web site to access this content and you will be asked to enter your password again.)
Our team of training professionals consists of practicing Russian English language teachers and teacher trainers who have an extensive range of experience in delivering high quality training in teacher education in different environments, including universities, teacher training institutions and language schools. As preparation for delivering TKT Essentials our trainers passed through the British Council’s Trainer Development Course run by UK specialists and developed their professional training skills with the focus on delivery of the modern ELT methodology and approaches on which TKT Essentials Course is based.
The full online course covers three core areas divided into a total of 33 units varying in length between 90 and 180 minutes.
1.Module 1. Language and background to language teaching/learning (18 units);
2.Module 2. Lesson planning/ and use of resources for language teaching (8 units);
3.Module 3. Managing the teaching and learning process (7 units).
It is delivered in two independent parts: part 1 - Module 1, Part 2 - Modules 2,3.
The materials for the TKTE course have been designed by the British Council team of authors to provide teachers with an introduction to the basic theory associated with a communicative approach to English language teaching.
