Blogathon 2012 has finished in Russia and we are delighted to announce the winners!

We want to thank all the participants who took part in this event. More than 60 brave bloggers from Russia have been running for the ultimate challenge through the streets of the TeachingEnglish website .More than 1700 blog posts were written! We are proud of you and really hope it was an amazing adventure and you found it interesting and rewarding. We hope you will keep on blogging!

What is TeachingEnglish Blogathon?
Just what it sounds like - a blogging marathon. The TeachingEnglish Blogathon is an online event that brings together teachers of English to share good practice in ELT and find out more about blogging. It started on 23 January 2012 and teachers of English in Russia will contribute to the TeachingEnglish ELT blog marathon until 02 March 2012.

How it works
The blogathon is taking place at TeachingEnglish website
The winners will be announced on the virtual awards ceremony on 6 March 2012 here and on our Facebook page.

How will the winners be selected?
The blog posts will be evaluated according to the criteria by a panel of English Language teaching professionals. Criteria can be downloaded here.

What are the prizes
Gold award
The teacher who has written the most outstanding blog posts will get iPad 2!
Silver award
The runner up will get an e-reader.
Bronze award
5 active contributors will be awarded ELT methodology materials.
Energiser award
3 teachers who were most active in commenting on other’s blogs will be awarded cool British Council TeachingEnglish bags!

Why not? It is fun!
You get a chance to tell about yourself and read about other experience, stories, tips, successes and challenges
Hang around in the great company of fellow teachers, learn and develop by reading and commenting on their blog entries here.

If you don’t feel confident yourself to be a blogger, you can read other bloggers’ posts, leave comments, or share links to their entries to your peers through Facebook and Twitter. That way, you can make this experience more enjoyable. There are prizes for the active readers as well.
