British Council Russia

The British Council is taking part in Social Media Week organised by Strelka Institute September 19–23.

During Social Media Week September 19 - 23 we will look at the issues around technology and education. Several lectures, seminars and discussions will touch upon the issues of safety online, distant programmes for disadvantaged groups, use of social media in education and life long learning, mobile learning and gaming for education.

Workshop
“Online courses in Moodle – making them work”

This practical workshop is for teachers of all subjects who want to improve their skills in developing online courses in Moodle.

Practicing teachers of all subjects are invited to apply for the workshop. Please fill in the online application form.

“Smart technology: my favourite learning tool”

Tell us how you use technology for learning and get a chance to win a prize!!!

Do you use technology for learning? Have you every studied online, or do you have a favourite website, do you learn a foreign language using a mobile app? If so, why not tell about your favourite tool?

Send us a link to your favourite tool and a 300 word paragraph describing why you think this is the best instrument and how it helped you learn. Learn more

"Wordshake" online cup

During the week all learners of English are invited to play online game “Wordshake”. Practice as many times as you want and send us the screenshot of your best shot to win a prize! The screenshots will be accepted from 17.00 September, 19 till 18.00 Thursday, 22. The winners will be announced on Friday, 23 at the closure of the Social media week education hub.

Terms and conditions:
The competition is open for Russian citizens who are non-native speakers of English.

Only one entry is accepted from one person.
