British Council Russia is launching a 72-hour Learning Technologies in the Classroom face-to face Course conducted in partnership with Moscow in service Teacher Training Institution and 41-hour Learning Technologies in the Classroom online Course.

Trainers

Our team of training professionals consists of practicing English language teachers and teacher trainers who have an extensive range of experience in delivering high quality training in teacher education in different environments, including universities, teacher training institutions and language schools.  As preparation for delivering Learning Technologies course, our trainers attended the British Council’s Trainer Development Courses run by UK experts which focuses on the current various modern tools and methodologies for using ICT in the classroom.

Course Description

The course will cover the following content areas:

  1. An introduction to learning technologies
  2. Evaluating and selecting websites
  3. Integrating the Web
  4. Office applications for whole-class teaching
  5. Using Office applications in a computer room
  6. Searching and copyright-friendly materials
  7. Cyber well-being
  8. Ideas for school links projects
  9. Using the interactive Web in the classroom
  10. Collaborative online writing
  11. Online writing for students and teachers
  12. Social networking for educational use
  13. Practising listening and speaking with online audio
  14. Practising listening and speaking with online video.

When and Where

Face-to-face 72-hour course will be conducted in British Council office in Moscow. Dates October -December 2012


On-line 41-hour course will be conducted in VLE Moodle. Dates October-December 2012
Participants will receive tasks that they can perform at their own time. Participants will be expected to spend approximately 6 hours per week online.

Participants who have attended at least 80% of the course and submitted all assignments will be awarded certificates at the end of the course.

Call for participants

We will select 25 participants for each course and we are looking for applications from experienced, forward looking teachers who have access to web-based technologies in their professional environments.

Criteria for participants

  • a competent command of English
  • a degree in ELT, education or similar
  • teaching experience is desirable
  • good basic IT skills (MS office, e-mail, Internet)
  • initiative and enthusiasm to develop professionally
  • interest in the area of using technology in the classroom
  • need and relevance of the course to personal and institutional development,
  • ability to disseminate the results of the course
