Steve Grand and 'Lucy'

The image above shows Steve Grand, the British artificial intelligence (AI) researcher, working on Lucy, his robot. Lucy has been designed as a test model for his theories on AI, her senses (hearing, vision, touch) input to her brain. This consists of internal circuit boards for sensory control, and an external link to a computer that contains Grand's neural software.

Peter Bentley and the MOBIUS research project focus on the creation of a new biologically-inspired algorithm that exploits both evolution and processes of developmental biology and demonstrates this algorithm on a novel combination of "smart materials" to create Shape Shifters

Bob Mottram has been developing a diminutive upper torso humanoid robot, Rodney . Rodney is mainly used for experiments in stereo vision, spatial awareness, social interaction and large scale semantic networks.
