China funding for Spring 2012

Kick start the Year of the Dragon with our great new funding opportunities for UK-China partnerships.  We’re offering three different grant opportunities, open to schools with existing UK-China partnerships.  

Visit Grants – build your relationship and develop your partnership
Project Grants – work with your partner on a curriculum-based project
Better Community, Better Life Grants – work with your partners on a community-themed art project

The deadline for applications is 31 March 2012.  

Visit Grants  

Build your relationship and develop your partnership

Want to further develop the relationship with your partner teachers?  We’re offering grants for you to host your Chinese partner teachers in the UK, or for travel to visit your partner schools in China.

Eligibility:  Open to UK schools in a cluster partnership with China.  The partnership must include at least six schools in each country.

Funding:  £4,500 per cluster to be spent on the costs of hosting Chinese partners (eg accommodation, meals etc) or on travel from the UK to China

Project Grants

Work with your partner on a curriculum-based project

Do you have a strong, established partnership?  Then choose a project topic to suit the curriculum in your school and your Chinese partner school(s) and work together.  We’re offering funding for travel and project costs.  

You can either apply as a cluster partnership or as an individual school with a single Chinese partner school.  

a) Cluster Project Grants

Eligibility: Open to UK schools in a cluster partnership with China.  The partnership must include at least six schools in each country.  The project themes and topics must be agreed across the whole cluster partnership.

Funding:  £9,000 per cluster to be spent on travel and/or project costs.

b) Individual Project Grants

Eligibility: Open to any UK school with an existing partnership with a Chinese school.  

Funding:  £1,500 per school to be spent on travel and/or project costs.

Better Community, Better Life (BCBL) Grants

Work with your partner on a community-themed art project

Want to work on a curriculum project with your partner cluster?  Save time and let us do the planning for you.  We’ve created a special education pack to help you work on joint activities through the Better Community, Better Life project.  This creative, ready-made project gets your pupils working with their Chinese peers to create beautiful artwork and take action in their local community.  Funding is available for travel and/or project costs.

Eligibility:  Open to UK schools in a cluster partnership with China.  The partnership must include at least six schools in each country.  

Funding: £6,000 per cluster to be spent on travel and/or project costs.
