FameLab regional heats in 2007 took place in:
• Iasi, 17 February Results of first local selection: the winners are Stefan Zamfirescu from Iasi (Vocal communication at frogs), Mihaela Axinte from Targu Neamt (Chemical bonds in organic compounds) and Corina Tabrea (Maths of nature). The jury was composed of: Vasile Arhire, Director TVR iasi, Prof Daniel Condurache, Universitatea Tehnica "Gheorghe Asachi", Prof Henri Luchian, Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza and Gabriel Ivan, British Council.
• Cluj-Napoca, 24 February1 Results of the 2nd local selection: the winners are Octav Zlatior (Doppler effect), Iulia Gorban (The Impactul of man - accidental or intentional pollution - on touristic caves) and Camelia Chira ( Artificial Intelligence - Multi-Agent Systems). The jury was composed of Dr Luminita Silaghi-Dumitrescu, Dean of Faculty of Chemistry, Universitatea Babes-Bolyai, Dr Iosif Viehmann, associate professor, Faculty of Biology-Geology, Daniel Sirbu, journalist, Razvan Florian, Chair of Ad Astra Association and Gabriel Ivan, British Council.
• Bucharest, 2 and 3 March Results of the 3rd local selection: the winners are Silviu Apostol (Selection of partners and evolutionist biology), Simona Mancas (Computer accessibility for visually disabled persons), Alina Tanase (A contribution of genetic print in criminology), Dan Sebastian (Shore erosion or is Black Sea the best neighbour for Romania?). The jury was composed of Roxana Bojariu, member of Ad Astra board, Irina Pacurariu, collaborator of TVR, Ilie Pirvu, professor, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest, Catalin Mosoia, science journalist and Gabriel Ivan, British Council.
FameLab 2007 Romania final took place on 19th of March in Bucharest. The winners of this first edition are:
