CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH EXAMS
FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Secondary school students may be able to take a Cambridge English Exam from CEF level A2 to B1). See below for descriptions of each level’s exam.

Council of Europe Framework level A2 - Key English Test (KET)

KET tests the most basic communication needs in everyday situations and is suitable for students aged thirteen and over and adults. It is an elementary level exam and can be achieved after approximately 200 hours of learning.

Council of Europe Framework level B1 - Preliminary English Test (PET)

This is a pre-intermediate level exam that tests the language skills needed for social and work–related situations in an English-speaking environment. About 380 hours of study are required to reach this level.

HOW CAN YOUR CHILD TAKE A CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH EXAM?

This section shows you the steps to follow if you would like your child to take a Cambridge exam:

Read the descriptions above and then look at the exam content for the exam which you think would be suitable for your child.
If you are not sure what exam your child should take, we offer you the Oxford Quick Placement Test, specially designed by Oxford and Cambridge universities which will give you an indication of your child’s level of English (more details). Your child can take this test in any of our centres from Bucharest*, Cluj and Iasi and at BCU Timisoara, 1 Paris St.
