Special library offer to mark Women’s Day

In the past 75 years, many wonderful ladies have crossed the threshold of the British Council library in Bucharest.  This is why we’d like to show our gratitude to you, the women in our lives.

Start off by checking your library card and if the Mxxxxxxxxx serial contains the number 75, then bring it to our library between 1-8 March and you will receive a free six month extension to your membership on the spot!

Also, keep in mind that World Book Day is coming up on 7 March bringing many surprises which we’ve prepared for you.

75 expressions of love

Chocolates and flowers are said to be the most popular gifts for Valentine’s Day. But as sweet as these may be, here, at the British Council, we have been trying to find more original ways of celebrating love. And, in every relationship, be it a young love or one which has seen many Valentine’s Days, there is one moment when you simply run out of ideas when it comes to expressing what you feel. This is why we have come up with 75 original ways through which you can tell your nearest and dearest just how much they mean to you: 75 messages perfect for romantic souls, funky party people, internet addicts, geeks or fashionistas.

Between 11 and 28 February, the British Council Libraries in Bucharest, Iasi and Cluj will scatter thousands of lovely vouchers around town, in libraries, cafes and universities. Find them and see which of the 75 ways of expressing love best fits your relationship. Offer it to your loved one and you will not only declare your feelings in an original way, but you will also give them the chance to get a 50% off discount for a subscription to our @British library in Bucharest. Watch award-winning movies together or share the thrill of great British books all year round! If you’re the one in love with the British culture, keep the voucher to yourself and enjoy our great resources.

Yes, Valentine’s Day is indeed all about love, but it is also about finding the most interesting ways of celebrating your feelings. So be on the look out for our vouchers: at least one of the 75 expressions of love is bound to fit those closest to you like a glove!
