How can I register?
Test your English with IELTS

For registering you need:

to personally fill in the application form
to attach two recent passport-size photos
to include one photocopy of your ID (preferably passport) which you are going to present at the examination
to pay the fee. If you have registered by post, please send us a copy of the proof of payment.

The fee for the IELTS test

Starting with registrations for the IELTS test on 30 April the examination fee is lei 620.

Methods of payment:

by cash or card at the British Council Bucharest during the registration periods according to the test data table

by transfer from the bank where you have an account into our account with the following details:

Registration methods:

at the British Council Bucharest (Calea Dorobantilor 14), during the registration periods, between 12.00-19.00
by post (preferably Prioripost) to British Council, Examinations Services, IELTS test, Calea Dorobantilor no 14, sector 1, 010572, Bucharest. Please make sure your application is sent during the registration period

The confirmation letter and details about exam will be sent by e-mail and therefore it is essential for you to give these details in the application form.

Application form

An on-line application form is available. The document is in Adobe® Acrobat®'s Portable Document Format (PDF). To view and print the document you need to use a PDF file viewer such as Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®, now available at no charge from Adobe systems web site.

Application forms received by fax or e-mail are not accepted.

Confirmation of registration

After registration you will receive an e-mail confirming the date and the module you have registered for. In order to receive this piece of information in time it is essential that all contact details in the Application Form, including e-mail address, are completed.

How can I postpone/cancel the test and when am I reimbursed?

Candidates who choose to CANCEL their registration more than 5 weeks prior to the test date will receive a refund of the full fee minus an administrative fee of £25. Candidates may also TRANSFER to another test date, free of charge, more than 5 weeks prior to the exam.

If you want to postpone/cancel your test less than five weeks before the date you registered for or if you are absent on the day of the test, you will get no reimbursement.

In case of illness or bereavement (a certificate has to be provided) we will reimburse the fee minus a penalty of £25.

Candidates who postpone, cancel or are absent will be offered a new date as soon as possible.

All requests for cancellations or refunds must be received in writing (by post, fax or e-mail). Please fill in the form.
