The British Council will attend th 14th National Rate Conference, taking place in Cluj-Napoca.
The event is designed for English Teachers and professionals who work in the field of english Language Teaching and is focused on 'New and Old Challenges in ELT'.
The conference will be hosted at the Transylvania College, Cluj-Napoca, during 8-10 November. The deadline for early registrations will be 20 September and 1 October for late registrations.

The seminars are offered in partnership with Cambridge English Language Assessment and they are delivered by experienced and knowledgeable trainers, who have all been appointed by Cambridge English and the British Council.
Seminars are organised every year from October to May at the British Council offices in Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi and at our partners' premises in Timisoara, Brasov and Oradea.

British Council Romania is recruiting freelance Cambridge English Speaking Examiners as follows:
British Council Iasi - 8 examiners eligible for the whole range of exams YLE - CPE British Council Bucharest - 10 examiners eligible for the whole range of exams YLE - CAE.
If you are interested and meet the minimum requirements, you are invited to submit your CV and clear copies of supporting documents (diplomas and/or certificates to prove: your education to first degree, TESOL qualifications and/or teaching experience, your English language proficiency if your first language is not English) to Cambridge Exams Centre Manager, British Council, Calea Dorobantilor 14, 010572 Bucharest by post or by email to consuela.popescu@britishcouncil.ro, no later than 9 October 2013.
British Council reserves the right to request professional references from people you have been working with.
Please find below some information about the conditions of working as a Speaking Examiner for our centre: 1. As there are no limited entries for a given session, all sessions differ in number of candidates. Therefore, it may happen that not all Speaking Examiners are needed for a specific session. 2. Nevertheless we will ask you to be ready for duty within the speaking test windows, on some week days and most of weekends. The exams timetable is available by each end of October for the coming year. 3. Speaking examiners are often required to travel. British Council reimburses travel costs and per diem. 4. To keep your active status as Speaking Examiner you must examine, attend the the annual face-to-face coordination meetings and are requested also to do your certification on the online Professional Support Network. 5. All Speaking Examiners are constantly monitored and evaluated by a Team Leader.
Only suitable applicants whose application package is complete with all supporting documents will be processed. Successul applicants will be contacted for interview. If you are accepted and you are not already registered as a freelance (PFA, AF, SRL), you will need to submit the proof of registration prior to your first certification meeting.
