YLE (Cambridge English: Young Learners) are Cambridge tests for children between 7 and 12 years old, at three levels of difficulty: Starters, Movers and Flyers.
These tests reward children’s efforts to learn English and are an ideal way of introducing them to the requirements of an international examination.
YLE Flyers is at the Council of Europe Framework level A2 (approximately the same level as KET). YLE Starters and YLE Movers are at the CEF level A1.
Every child who takes the exam receives a certificate showing his or her ability in speaking, listening, reading and writing. The results will show you how well your child communicates in English.
Visit the Cambridge website for details about the format of the tests and to download the handbook.
We organise the YLE tests in cooperation with schools or foreign language centres.
YLE test dates are not fixed by Cambridge ESOL. These are set individually with each school and registrations are made at least seven weeks before the test date. Please visit our website regularly for updated information.
If you are a preparation centre who wishes to make registrations for the YLE Cambridge exams, please write to contact@britishcouncil.ro. call us at 021 307 96 00.
