Business Development & Centre Manager in Cluj-Napoca

The British Council Romania is looking to recruit a Business Development & Centre Manager for the British Council office in Cluj-Napoca.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting and developing our existing business network, and identifying and exploiting suitable new opportunities for sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

To contribute to the development of British Council Examinations Marketing Strategy for Romania and in cooperation with ESM, Head Mar/Comms, Exams Coordinators and Bucharest and Cluj  BDMs and to implement the strategy in the allocated region;
To manage the development, implementation and evaluation of British Council Exams promotional and support services in cooperation with the ESM, Bucharest and Cluj BDMs and Exams Coordinators. To create and maintain good working relations with actual and potential contacts (Cambridge  English Regional Business Manager and local Consultants, state and private school representatives, language centres, teachers of English, professional associations) in order to increase the market for UK examinations;
To cover Cambridge Centre Exams Manager duties and  to coordinate Cambridge English exams administration in the allocated region;
To manage the finances of the Cluj operation;
To be responsible for the overall management of the Cluj office, ensuring effective use of resources, maintaining an appropriate staffing structure, facilities management;
To maintain good relationships with key local partners;
To work closely with Projects, Mar/Comms and Networks and Innovations teams in Bucharest on implementation of appropriate products for Cluj region;
To develop and implement appropriate strategies for local income generating activities (English & Exams aside) in order to achieve independence from grant;
To ensure compliance with local legislation as well as British Council standards concerning health & safety, equal opportunities and diversity and child protection in the Cluj office.

Requirements

Experience in the following areas:

Business Management and Development;
Market Analysis;
Managing Relationships with customers, clients and stakeholders;
Planning and forecasting;
Monitoring and reporting.
