Going Global is an international conference for leaders, policy makers, and influential practitioners.
More than 1,000 heads of universities and colleges are expected to attend Going Global 2014 in Miami.
Themes
Innovation is the major engine of national economic prosperity and growth. Yet, innovation cannot be contained within national borders, individual sectors or single disciplines. Talented people with highly specialised knowledge and skills are mobile. Nations aspiring to innovate must have strong national talent pools. To develop these, they must provide high quality tertiary education that ensures the wide inclusion of their citizens while being open to international collaboration.
Meeting the challenges of innovation requires inclusion and talent development. Universities and colleges are at the heart of these agendas. Internationalised institutions are ideally positioned to deliver national and global impact well beyond their traditional research and teaching roles.
Going Global 2014 explores how innovation systems are formed, structured and driven globally and transnationally. Delegates will consider how talent to drive innovation is developed and how countries meet the challenge of providing sufficient high quality tertiary education to ensure the widespread inclusion and participation of their citizens. The conference will focus on what impact an internationalised higher and tertiary sector can deliver in these twin areas of innovation and inclusion. We will investigate how impact is delivered - and explore the outcomes for policy makers, funders, tertiary education stakeholders and the institutions themselves.
We are calling for proposals under three themes of:
1-Inclusion
2-Innovation
3-Impact
