We have been working, since 1996, in partnership with Book Aid International and OXFAM - UK to develop Palestinian educational institutions and libraries through the provision of appropriate materials and to facilitate information sharing and networking amongst Palestinian libraries.
Topics were selected by the beneficiary organizations and according to their targets’ needs. In general, subject areas include: English language resources and reference books, fiction and literature, medicine, IT, gender, rural development, teacher training; higher education, vocational skills, higher education, and children’s and teenagers’ books etc...
In the Palestinian Territories we helped over 100 institutions develop their libraries and resource centres and share best practice. Beneficiaries include universities, research centres, children’s centres, NGOs, colleges, schools, public libraries and community centres. below is a list of 2007 beneficiaries:
