Grove Art Online
Grove Art Online is the authority on all aspects of art from prehistory to the present day. It provides online access to the entire text of the acclaimed 34-volume Dictionary of Art plus newly-commissioned articles. Encyclopaedia Britannica Online
Encyclopaedia Britannica is the world's most comprehensive reference product, a distinction it has held since its first publication in 1768.  It includes the complete Encyclopaedia, Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, Britannica Student Encyclopaedia, the Britannica Book of the Year, an Internet directory and 118,000 articles plus illustrations, photographs, drawings, maps, and flags.
Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
