As part of our Knowledge and Learning Centres in Ramallah and Gaza, we offer our young learners (ages 5-18) a bright and comfortable access to over 2000 books by all their favourite authors, magazines, comics, videos, CD-ROMs and DVDs. A wide selection of electronic databases and educational games is also available to help them improve their English language skills and develop and challenge their skills and learning abilities.
Enter the main door, and immediately your attention will be grabbed by the bright and colourful carpets, furniture and flashing screens of the Young Learners' Zone. Designed to stimulate young minds while providing a comfortable and welcoming setting, the Learning Zone offers a great place for discovery through a variety of printed and electronic resources in addition to a wide selection of over 120 educational games.
With over 1500 books in the Learning Zone, children can happily breeze through stories focused on diversity issues in addition to a wide selection of bi-lingual books in English & Arabic, many of which are not available elsewhere. For our young members interested in lighter reading, we have kids' favourite magazines including Discovery Box, BBC Learning is fun, adventure box, tops of the pops, Tele tubbies and many others. Magazines can also be borrowed by members.
Young learners can borrow videos and DVDs from our wide collection of regularly updated titles. We have videos & DVDs purely for entertainment, as well as educational purposes. The wide selections of our educational games give learners the chance to sharpen their cognitive skills and polish their English Language speaking and writing skills. Teachers may borrow these games and use as teaching aids in their classrooms.
Computers with fast access to the internet and to a wide selection of electronic resources and databases are put at the disposal of our young learners. You can experience a unique journey that is educational and fun.
We consider real-life interaction as an important part of the learning process and therefore organise a number of programmes and activities within the Young Learners Zones. All these activities are coordinated in partnership with Palestinian institutions and individuals with a wide experience in teaching and working with young learners. Our programmes include video/DVD showings, drama and arts workshops, parties, story telling sessions and internet training for beginners. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, or a registered adult, when using the Young Learners' Zone or Knowledge and Learning Centre.
