What is café scientifique?

The Cafe Scientifique events provide a unique forum for the discussion of topical and thought provoking scientific issues through video conferencing. It enables participants to debate and exchange ideas on science and society with people from different backgrounds and cultures

How does it work?

A UK scientist gives a thought provoking 20 minute introductory talk raising social, moral and ethical questions on the way science impacts on our everyday lives. The audience will then break out into groups in-country to explore the topic after which the discussion will be opened up to debate amongst all the participants.
