What is IELTS?
It is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. it is available in two formats - Academic for academic purposes and General for non-academic training and other purposes. It is managed jointly by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council and IDP (IELTS Australia).
Why take the IELTS?
It is internationally recognised as a language requirement by universities, professional bodies, employers and other purposes in many countries
It is the preferred language test of most universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada
The Canadian, Australian and New Zealand Departments of Immigration use IELTS as a test of language ability prior to granting immigration approval
How do I Register?

1. Download and complete the application form

2. Submit it to your nearest British Council centre two weeks before the exam date with:

A copy of your identity card or passport
Two recent and identical passport sized photographs; with a white background and no eyeglasses if you usually wear them. Click here for photo guide

3. Make full payment (NIS 800) on your registration day

4. Please note that when you register you will receive an information for candidates booklet  and IELTS candidate leaflet which contains information about the test.

How can I prepare for the exam?
You can buy a specific IELTS study pack for the Academic or General training modules for NIS 100 from our offices.

Day of the test essentials:

Exams usually begin at 08:30, so it is best to be at the venue by 08:00.
Please bring your ID card or passport. (you must have the same evidence of identity as the number entered on the application form)
Results and further details
Results are issued within two weeks
You will receive one copy of the test results; however, you can order additional copies, which can be sent direct to receiving institutions
A refund is only considered with a minimum of one week's notice, prior to the exam date and upon submission of medical evidence
