common telephone situations

So how happy do you feel about speaking in English on the phone?  First you have to understand the situation and then be able to respond.  Listen to these typical phone situations.

First make sure you understand the aim or purpose of each call.

Then see if you have caught some of the key words.

Finally play the Writing Game.  Reconstruct the dialogues.  Although you can make it easier if you wish, we suggest you try to reconstruct as much as you can, then listen and try to fill in the gaps.
