Improving reading skills

How often do you read something?  What kind of things do you read?  Do you always read in the same way?  Do you start reading at the beginning and read every word until the end?  Or do you just select the information you need and ignore the rest? It may seem surprising, but there are different ways of reading.

With this article you can:

  • do a quiz on your reading habits
  • read an article which looks at the different ways of reading and check your understanding
  • reconstruct part of the text, working on comprehension, grammar and vocabulary
  • listen to a person speaking about "speed reading", check your comprehension and develop your vocabulary
