Where
We run courses in our three centres

central Lisbon, Miraflores and Parede.

When
All courses are 90 hours long

3 hours once a week, or 1.5 hours twice a week
3 ten week terms October – December, January – March, March - June

Classes
Junior courses are for 6 to 9 year olds

four levels, J1 - J4
pupils grouped according to age

We also have a mixed age (6-10) bilingual group in Lisbon only – this is for children who have had some of their education in English or who use English on a regular basis outside school.

Our courses
We design our courses to meet the learning needs and styles of this particular age group. Our courses

are topic based
enhance the children’s learning in other subjects at school
engage the children in working with realistic meaningful language
teach children to understand and speak with confidence
develop  children’s reading and writing skills in English
involve the children in a variety of fun tasks

Approach and methodology
Our pupils participate actively in their learning. Our approach

is pupil centred
puts a focus on educating the whole child
encourages and assesses the development of good learning skills
emphasises learning by doing

Our methodology involves

children working on a variety of  tasks (songs, role-plays, mini presentations, projects, making books)
working as a class, in groups, pairs, or by themselves
using a variety of resources, including ICT, films and literature to help children develop their English language skills

Assessment
Children are assessed on their work throughout the course.

each course has clearly defined objectives relating to learning skills and learning outcomes
children are encouraged to self assess their work and participation
parents receive reports on their child’s progress at the end of each term
we invite parents in each term to discuss their child’s learning

Come and join us

Juniors are normally placed according to age. However, we do offer an informal placement interview for children who are 9 years old to ensure they join the right level, and for those wishing to join the bilingual groups. There is no placement test fee for juniors.

Registration is EUR 60.00

One term is 30 hours and the price is EUR 375.00 (various discounts are available). Classes in Lisbon on Saturday, starting before 1645, are EUR 395.00
