The Portugal 24hr Inclusive Design Challenge took place in Lisbon on 21, 22 and 23 June 2012.
In the Challenge, each of the five multidisciplinary teams were given a challenge that they had to solve within the 24 hours of the project.
Each team had a designer partner who had a physical or visual disability and who acted, regardless their education or training, both as a driver to identify the problem as well as a consultant in the validation of each project's solution.
The aim of the 24hr Inclusive Design project, which is part of the British Council’s Design programme, and also part of the Design includes YOU portofolio, was to disseminate inclusive and communication design at a professional and academic level.
Workshop participantso: Product Designers, Equipment Designers, Communication Designers, Arquitects, Occupational Therapists, Ergonomists, graduate and master students in these areas.
Workshop participants paid a fee of EUR 80.00, which included self-service lunches, coffee breaks and materials/stationery.
Events were held at: 21 June at 2100 Launch, Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa 22 and 23 June Workshops at the British Council premises in Lisbon.
