The Polish-British Young Scientists Programme (YSP) was established in January 2003 by the Polish-British Joint Committee for the Research Partnership Programme in order to support joint scientific research and, in particular, to provide young scientists from Poland and the United Kingdom with enhanced study and research opportunities. The programme will enable participants to make one or more research visits to a partner institution(s) in the UK (for Polish participants) or to Polish institution(s) (for UK participants). The Programme is jointly financed and managed in Poland by the British Council and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego). The system of funding on the Polish side will be based on the existing mechanisms (statutory activity funds). Grants are offered as contributions towards travel and living costs only. Applications can be considered from young researchers in pure, applied and social sciences. We define ‘young’ as researchers in the early stages of their career. Applicants should be PhD students or researchers who have completed their PhD within five years previous to the submission date. YSP applications for 2010 YSP funding is intended to help build new British-Polish research partnerships or strengthen existing partnerships through developing new research directions and, in particular, to provide young scientists with opportunities and encouragement to conduct study and research in a partner institution(s) in Poland (for UK participants) and in the UK (for Polish participants). The British Council and Ministry of Science and Higher Education expect to make approximately 20 awards in 2010. Applications can be in any area of the pure and applied sciences. Social science applications must be in the fields funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Mixed science-social science applications are eligible. Humanities research is not eligible for funding. The closing date for submissions is 30 November 2009 If you are interested in applying for the scheme please see the following documents: If you are interested in other research partnership programmes please visit our Research Networks site. |
