The English Language Centre was established in 1986 on the grounds of the understanding between the British Council Poland and the University of Wrocław, the aim being to improve the knowledge of English among academic teachers.

The ELC has been serving the academic community of Wrocławfor over twenty years, and for the past ten years language courses have also been made available to the general public. The English Language Centre mainly offers general English courses, however Business English courses are also available prior to individual agreement with a group of interested students.

The teachers working in the English Language Centre are qualified specialists with many years of experience The unique way of teaching in the ELC is effective in preparing students both for examinations at different levels of proficiency, as well as for fluent communication in every-day life.
