Born and raised in Yorkshire I travelled to the Deep South to begin my European Studies-German degree in Canterbury, Kent. Newly graduated, on holiday and walking down the main street of a sleepy German town I bumped into my former Professor. He was very excited about a project he was involved in to retrain employees of defunct state industries and would I like to get involved… And that’s how this teacher’s career began. Three years later I found myself in Warsaw and after passing the DTEFLA, I started working for the British Council. That was 1997. More recently I successfully completed the CELTYL course. Married with twin sons, I try to spend as much of my free time as possible with the family.
