When I finished university (Northern Ireland and Zaragoza in Spain) I did a variety of jobs, including a newspaper seller in Berlin. I became a teacher in 1996 and came to Poland as the first step in my ‘world tour’ – and I’ve been here ever since. I got married to Ania in 1998 and our daughter, Emilia, was born in 2003. I’ve taught mainly business English in factories, offices and language schools all over Poland. I passed my Diploma (DTESOL) in 2001 and joined the British Council two years later. I’ve written many ESP (English for Specific Purposes) courses, including English for Marketing Professionals, Legal English for TOLES Advanced and English for Translators, and my first book, International Legal English Teacher’s Book, was published by CUP in 2006. As a teacher, I especially enjoy the challenge of very low levels and very high levels.
