Meeting my future wife, Agnieszka, in London is what eventually brought me to Poland.
I completed the CTEFLA in 1994, and first worked at a language school in Krakow before moving to Warsaw. In a language school there, I progressed up the ladder and was the Director of Studies for two years.
I started working for the British Council in 1999 but when I heard they were opening in Krakow I moved back and have been working here ever since. I have been a Cambridge examiner, at all levels, since June 1996 and an IELTS examiner since September 1999. In August 2007 I finished the DipTESOL, gaining a Distinction. This summer, I passed the CELTYL course in Warsaw to further develop my teaching expertise with regard to Young Learners.
My wife and I have two children; Vicky is 9 and Daniel 6. Both learnt to speak English earlier than Polish which proves “English is easy”. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a logistics co-ordinator for a European transport company and spent time working in each European office. I am very happy to be living in Poland – mainly because I don’t keep track of national politics but enjoy meeting new people. My family and I love to explore the wonderful countryside.
