conditions of TEST ADMINISTRATION FOR INDIVIDUAL CANDIDATES

British Council in Poland provides exam administration services on behalf of foreign examination
bodies and educational institutions for candidates who are not able to travel abroad to sit their examinations.

British Council Examinations Services:

  • ensure that the regulations of all examination bodies and educational institutions are strictly observed,
  • receive and store exam papers (ensuring total security of all documents),
  • provide a room and invigilators for the actual examination,
  • return the completed answer sheets and scripts by method indicated by the examination board or institution.

The above services are provided only at an institution’s request and for written papers only as we are unable to provide
facilities for practical tests.

Test Administration Fees

  • For some courses the tuition fee paid to the institution by students includes the cost of administering the examination
    overseas.  In this case the administration fee is paid by the institution direct to the British Council in Poland.  We will
    issue the institution with an invoice for our services and despatch costs (where required).
  • All fees from institutions are payable in advance by sterling cheque made out to: British Council Poland
    (the name of the contact person in Examinations Services should be on the envelope only).
  • For other courses, students are expected to cover administration costs and despatch locally.  This should be
    clearly stated in the institution’s instructions or letter concerning examination arrangements.  In this case
    we will issue the candidate with an invoice for our services and despatch costs (where required).
  • All fees from individual candidates, are payable in advance by bank or postal transfer to the bank account provided
    by British Council.

Administration fees - per candidate/per paper -at the British Council in Poland are as follows (courier charges not included):

Candidates unable to sit the exam for medical reasons are entitled to a 60% refund of the administration fee.

Postage Fees

We offer a choice of secure postage:

  • Priority registered mail with confirmation of receipt (delivery time and price depending on destination and weight
    of package) - with the Examination Board's consent.
  • DHL – as per DHL price list. Prices quoted below are for despatch to the UK (for prices to other destinations please
    contact Examinations Services):

Method of despatch must be confirmed at time of application.  If we do not receive your choice in writing we will send the exam
papers by DHL and charge the payee.

  • a 25% cancellation fee is charged for cancellations up to three weeks before the exam
  • a 50% cancellation fee is charged for cancellations up to one week before the exam
  • no refunds are made for cancellations during the last week before the exam

British Council reserves the right not to provide the above service for exams held during national holidays or on weekends.
British Council and the Examining Boards take all reasonable steps to provide continuity of service.  We feel sure you will understand, however, that we cannot be held responsible for any interruptions caused by circumstances beyond our control.  If examinations or their results are disrupted, cancelled or delayed, every effort will be made to resume normal service as soon as possible.  British Council’s liability will be limited to the refund of the registration fee or re-testing at a later date.
