The British Council Exam Centre in Łódź is based at the English Language Centre of Łódź University. Their modern premises, located next to the Rector’s office, are spacious and fitted out with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. ELC runs exams but also offers language courses open to everybody at all levels of language proficiency. They teach general, business and legal English. You can attend classes there at almost any hour from 7:30 am till 8:30 pm. ELC teachers help plumb the mysteries of English and overcome linguistic obstacles. One of their students once said: “I had studied English for years but here I have finally mastered it”. The ELC staff’s friendly attitude may, however, have some side effects – students may become addicted to them...
As for exam administration, it is as pretty as a picture. This is no wonder as Jola Rosińska, the Łódź Exam Administrator, is a genuine painter. Every minute of her spare time is spent at the easel. Unfortunately the artist cannot part with her works and that is why you have very little chance of obtaining these colourful pictures.
By contrast Asia Perlińska, the co-ordinator prefers out-door activities. Her crazy, artistically shaggy dog Greya makes sure that her mistress has a lot of exercise out in the open air. |
