british council examination centre in Gliwice

Since 2009 the British Council Examination Centre in Gliwice has been located in a new venue that belongs to the Britam Language School. Britam has been present on the educational market in Poland since 1991. Language courses are organised in 5 branches in Gliwice, Zabrze, and Bytom and are dedicated to all age groups and all levels of proficiency. The most popular courses are those preparing for the Cambridge ESOL exams. Every year Britam also organises summer trips for English language courses in the UK.

The school prides itself on its English teachers whose competency and effectiveness of teaching skills is visible in the students’ results obtained in the exams taken by them.

Three times a year students take internal tests so they can check their preparation for the real exam session. The same option is available to all candidates registering at the Exams Centre in Gliwice. They also can take a trial test to find out what they need to work on harder.

Maria Podhajna is the Exams Co-ordinator at the Centre in Gliwice. Maja, as she is called by her friends, is responsible for the methodological aspects of English teaching at the Britam School. Her colleague, Agnieszka Deryło, is the Exams Administrator. She worked in the previous British Council Exams Centre in Gliwice.

Both of them are dedicated to their work and do their best to satisfy the examination needs of candidates. For example, during the last June FCE exam, when it was really hot outside, they served extra cool drinks to candidates in order to avoid dehydration and fainting.
