british council examination centre in Gliwice
The Examination Centre in Gliwice is located under the arches of the biggest building at the Silesian Technical University. Yet the centre itself is quite small and cosy. In the reception customers can watch the latest news in English or browse British newspapers and magazines.

Apart from organising exams the English Language Centre in Gliwice runs courses in general English at all levels as well as teaching more specific language for medical, technical, legal and academic purposes. The ELC also prepares students for FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS exam. The high quality of ELC courses is appreciated by the students who often return to prepare for the next examination or bring their own families to learn English. There are some who are not put off by failures and attempt the same exam several times…

The Exam Coordinator and Administrator are so perfectly co-ordinated that they gave birth to their children, a boy and a girl, on the very same day. Since they are also perfectly organised the subsequent session was conducted very smoothly and fully professionally, as usual.

The exam staff always do their best to ensure the smooth running of each session and prevent any disruptions. Quite recently they had to face a national training course of dance pairs when the FCE written test was in progress. The Exam coordinator was informed by a university porter that such an event was going to take place in a gymnasium two floors below the exam halls. The porter stressed that as acoustics in the building were excellent the music would be well heard in all the exam halls. Fortunately the friendly lady who ran the cafeteria in the building turned out to be the founder of a dance school in Gliwice. She happened to have the mobile phone number to someone who could be the potential organiser of the event. Her guess was correct and the organiser, the assistant of Ivona Pavlowić, agreed not to teach loud sambas or rumbas on that day and in general to conduct the training at a quieter pace than usual.

And now we invite you to check for yourselves whether all this is true: http://www.elc-gliwice.pl/
