	available as paper-based and computer-based tests

KET for Schools (Cambridge English: Key for Schools), PET for Schools (Cambridge English: Preliminary for Schools), and FCE for Schools (Cambridge English: First for Schools) are international English language examinations recommended for teenagers from the age of 11 to 17. The content and treatment of topics in all the tests have been particularly targeted at the interests and experience of school pupils. The certificates are identical to those received after the classic exams (KET, PET, FCE) at the same level and recognised by the same institutions.

KET for Schools certifies English language proficiency at a basic level (A2 of the CEFR).
PET for Schools certifies English language proficiency at a lower intermediate level (B1 of the CEFR).
FCE for Schools certifies English language proficiency at an upper intermediate level (B2 of the CEFR).

Exams for teenagers (apart from FCE for Schools) are available as paper-based tests and computer-based tests.

		WHAT ARE THE GRADES?

In order to achieve a passing grade KET for Schools candidates need to score at least 70 % of the total marks. The maximum scores are 100.

* Candidates taking KET for Schools, PET for Schools and FCE for Schools exams who do not achieve a passing grade but have demonstrated language ability at the Council of Europe level below the examination they have taken will be awarded a certificate showing that level. The following information will be given as the overall grade:

Council of Europe Level A1 for KET for Schools
Council of Europe Level A2 for PET for Schools
Council of Europe Level B1 for FCE for Schools.

		HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR KET/PET/FCE FOR SCHOOLS?

The KET for Schools and PET for Schools exams are available as the computer-based tests for which there are two options of registration:

individual registration of candidates for open sessions or
group registration (min. 10 people) for closed sessions organised on the school’s premises or in a hall rented by the school.

All three exams for teenagers, i.e. KET for Schools, PET for Schools, and FCE for Schools are available as paper-based tests for which there are three options of registration:

individual registration for open sessions,
group registration (min. 10 people) for closed session organised on the school’s premises
group registration for open sessions.

		WHAT ARE THE EXAMINATIONS FEES?

	You can register and take an exam in all British Council examination centres in Poland.

		How to verify a Cambridge ESOL certificate?

In May 2010 University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations launched a Results Verification Service to help organisations, individuals and agencies to validate candidates' Cambridge ESOL examination results.

The service is free of charge and available online at https://verification.cambridgeesolonline.org/User/SignIn?ReturnUrl=%2f. Anyone can use this free service once they have been given permission to verify a result by the certificate holder. Hence, it is a great opportunity for employers to validate the Cambridge ESOL certificates presented by future employees – the service offers all examinations results gathered from 2005 inclusively. The Results Verification Service might be also useful for universities that would like to confirm students’ English language qualifications.
