The YL extension course is intended to complement the Cambridge CELTA course, equipping successful candidates with the skills to teach English successfully to young people.
It is an internationally recognised qualification awarded by the University of Cambridge.

To be accepted onto the course, applicants must have an awareness of language and a level of competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables them to follow the course.

Applications are open to those with a Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity Cert. TESOL). Successful candidates will be issued a British Council certificate of attendance.

ABOUT THE COURSE

What does the course include?

  • 4 hours of teaching practice. This will be observed by tutors and you will receive feedback on your lessons. You’ll also be expected to comment on others’ lessons.
