Dear Members,

We would like to inform you that we are transferring our library resources to a partner library in Praga.

The library in the new location will be run in co-operation with Biblioteka Publiczna w Dzielnicy Praga Południe m.st. Warszawy at. Meissnera 5, following the partnership model we have successfully implemented in other cities around Poland. As a result, our members will have access to wider range of services and resources, including resources in other languages, such as French, German, Russian, Spanish and Italian.

Biblioteka Publiczna w Dzielnicy Praga Południe acommodates a state-of-the-art Reading Room comprising press reading room, Library of Foreign Language Books and Audiobook Library for Blind and Partially-Sighted people. There are 70 reading tables featuring power outlets for notebooks and a facility that reads out loud printed texts. It is one of a few public libraries in Warsaw to offer Internet access to people with visual impairments.

Together with our partner we are planning to open the British Library in the new location in September 2008. We will keep you informed about the details.

If you have any questions please contact library@britishcouncil.pl, tel. 022 695 59 00
