Cannot attend Glasgow IATEFL Conference 2012? Follow the event online!

If you can't attend the 46th IATEFL Annual International Conference in Glasgow, follow the event online between 19th & 23rd March!

The IATEFL Conference is the UK's biggest event for teachers of English, and is followed by teachers all around the world.

Building on the last five years' experience, the British Council is once again teaming up with IATEFL to create Glasgow Online which offers live video coverage before, during and after the conference.

Watch all the action as it happens on the Glasgow Online website!

Our coverage will feature: video presentations, workshops and interviews, broadcast 'live' from the conference.

Our discussion forums are moderated by subject experts and we will also have reports and accounts of conference sessions from a team of roving reporters.

Last year over 50,000 teachers from 150 countries registered on the Conference site - this year we are hoping for even more. Join us!

'Teacher Talk Devices' and 'Young Learners Survival Kit' - workshops for teachers

We'd like to invite teachers of English to workshops organised in cooperation with Ośrodek Rozwoju Edukacji.

Speakers:

Jamie Keddie

Teacher talk devices (presentation)

Teachers are often told to keep their talk time down to a minimum. After all, noisy teachers = quiet students. But, of course, there are many situations when the teacher’s voice is either vital, unavoidable or too valuable to silence. In this practical presentation, we will consider some fundamental TT techniques and look at ways of putting them into practice.

Jamie Keddie is a European-based teacher, teacher trainer, writer and presenter. He is the founder of www.lessonstream.org, the site that was formerly known as TEFLclips, winner of a British Council ELTons award. His publications include Images in the in the Resource Books for Teachers series published by Oxford University Press. Jamie is an associate trainer at Norwich Institute for Language Education in the UK.
