SCALE OF VENUE Small
PERMANENT STAFF Lead artist Chris Goode
ARTISTIC POLICY Chris Goode’s work for theatre slips constantly between forms and modes, but common to all of it is a profound concern with the liveness of the encounter between performer and audience, and an aspiration to stimulate intellectually as well as emotionally. The suite of small-scale work currently available for touring concentrates particularly on the creation of a genuine intimacy, seeded with the possibilities of radical social change. Works can often be adapted to specific settings or contexts.
REVIEW EXTRACTS British theatre’s greatest maverick talent. The Guardian For those in the know, shows by Chris Goode are perhaps as eagerly anticipated as new work from Tom Stoppard is by more mainstream audiences. Culture Wars
