English Expert to visit the Philippines The British Council will have a series of workshops conducted by Angie Malderez at the Ateneo de Manila University’s Centre for English Language Teaching from 13-14 May on Mentoring for Professional Development and on 15-16 May on Mentoring for Teachers of English. The first workshop on Mentoring for professional Development is for professionals in the BPO’s and English Language Centres while the second workshop on Mentoring for Teachers of English is intended for teachers in primary and secondary schools as well as the academe.
She is the author of several books in mentoring including "Mentor Courses: A Resource Book for Trainer-Trainers" published by Cambridge University Press and co-organiser of the first joint University of Leeds/IATEFL International Trainer-Training Conference at Leeds in November 2000. She is also a member of the editorial advisory panel for English Language Teaching Journal published by the Oxford University Press. Angi has more than 30 years of experience as teacher of children and adults, a teacher trainer, a materials writer, an outreach coordinator, a trainer’s trainer and a trainer-trainer-trainer. The workshop on Mentoring for Professional Development on 13-14 May which costs Php 8000 will give an early bird discount of Php 7500 for those registering on or before 6 May. While the workshop on Mentoring for Teachers of English on 15-16 May costing Php 3500 will also give an early bird discount of Php 3000 for those who will register on or before 8 May.
